The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) operates globally to fight poverty and improve lives. Its Global Shared Service Centre (GSSC) in Copenhagen, with outposted personnel in Bonn, provides comprehensive HR services, including recruitment, to UN agencies worldwide. This role is part of the GSSC's Human Resources function in Bonn, supporting recruitment for country offices.
Job Purpose
The Recruitment Assistant in the GSSC RSC in Bonn supports the transparent implementation of recruitment processes for country offices under their responsibility. This role involves performing administrative tasks to ensure high-quality and accurate service delivery in recruitment. The assistant provides advice on HR policies and services to internal and external clients, promotes a client-oriented approach, and shares best practices. Key contributions include supporting the full recruitment cycle, from vacancy announcements and applicant screening to selection and handover for onboarding, while ensuring compliance with UN/UNDP regulations and contributing to diversity and gender parity goals.
Responsibilities
Support the implementation of recruitment strategies by ensuring full compliance with UN/UNDP rules and contributing to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Provide high-quality recruitment services to enhance client trust. Assist in managing the recruitment services, including reviewing strategies, vacancy announcements, screening applicants, evaluating candidates, organizing interviews, and finalizing selections. Communicate application outcomes to candidates and support the production of recruitment analytics reports, focusing on diversity and gender parity. Maintain recruitment tracking systems, ensure accurate data management in official databases, and update candidate rosters. Support knowledge management for recruitment, selection, and placement, and contribute to training on local recruitments. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure efficient office and organizational functioning.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant HR and/or administrative experience (with a high school diploma) or 2 years (with a bachelor's degree) is required, preferably in recruitment at the national or international level. Proficiency in MS Office, collaboration tools, digital platforms, and cloud-based management systems (e.g., ERP) is essential. Experience communicating with diverse stakeholders, talent acquisition software, and in an international organization is desirable. Experience with Power Apps and AI tools is an asset.
