The UN Clinic, administered by UNDP, offers primary clinical and occupational health services to UN personnel and dependents, facilitating referrals to the Danish healthcare system.
Job Purpose
The Clinic Coordinator (Nurse) will support the UN Clinic Doctor in providing primary clinical and occupational health services to UN personnel and their dependents in Copenhagen. This role involves assisting with diagnostics, screenings, referrals, and coordinating follow-up care. The position also includes managing clinic operations, ensuring preparedness for staff travel, conducting health education, and maintaining medical records. The aim is to ensure accessible and effective healthcare services within the UN City environment, contributing to the well-being and operational readiness of UN staff.
Responsibilities
Clinical duties include assisting the UN Physician, performing diagnostic and screening tests (ECG, lab tests), facilitating referrals and follow-ups, coordinating preventative health activities, liaising with Danish health authorities, preparing staff for travel with vaccinations and health advice, providing health education and promotion programs, assessing work environments for occupational health issues, conducting medical briefings and first aid training, administering outpatient treatments and immunizations, and maintaining patient confidentiality. Administrative duties involve maintaining clinic order, managing medical supplies inventory, preparing medical reports, coordinating and supervising clinic personnel, ensuring equipment functionality, entering patient data into databases, processing invoices, scheduling consultations, maintaining a specialist roster, ensuring safe disposal of medical waste, and managing clinic material and equipment requirements.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of continuous clinical nursing experience is required, preferably in a multicultural setting. Experience with computer and office software packages, including spreadsheets and databases, is also necessary.
Skills
Strong functional knowledge and skills as a medical practitioner. Ability to work with computer and office software packages. Excellent inter-personal and communication skills. Tact and absolute respect for medical confidentiality. Proficiency in English and Danish.
