Organizational Context
The UNDP Regional Programme for Africa, based in Addis Ababa, addresses regional issues by supporting countries with similar challenges. It manages flagship projects and emerging issues like gender equality and climate security, while liaising with the African Union and other regional institutions. This role is crucial for delivering the programme's mandate through enhanced partnerships and coordination.
Job Purpose
The Partnerships and Coordination Analyst will strengthen the UNDP Regional Programme for Africa's capacity to deliver its mandate by enhancing partnerships and coordination. This involves expanding engagement with civil society, regional institutions like the African Union and RECs, and other stakeholders. The role supports the implementation of flagship initiatives, facilitates knowledge sharing, coordinates communication and resource mobilization efforts, and ensures strategic positioning at regional platforms. The analyst will contribute to the design, rollout, and reporting of multi-stakeholder initiatives, ultimately supporting the acceleration and endorsement of UNDP's development interventions across the continent.
Responsibilities
The Partnerships and Coordination Analyst will support regional programme partnership efforts by expanding engagement with civil society and coordinating with institutions like the African Union and RECs. This includes identifying partners, drafting concept notes, managing due diligence, and formalizing agreements. The role will technically contribute to coordinating multi-stakeholder flagship initiatives by ensuring timely activity implementation, coordinating planning meetings, tracking milestones, and preparing coordination notes. Additionally, the analyst will facilitate knowledge building and sharing by contributing to best practices and lessons learned documentation. Support will be provided for communication and resource mobilization strategies, including event planning and content development. Finally, the analyst will coordinate UNDP's engagement at key regional and multilateral platforms, track outcomes, and support follow-up actions.
Work Experience
Applicants with a Master's degree are not required to have professional work experience. Applicants with a Bachelor's degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in social sciences, partnership, international development, or related fields at the national or international level.
