Organizational Context
The UNDP-AMEXCID Cooperation Program (PROCAP), active since 2013, supports Mexico's international development cooperation efforts aligned with SDG 17. In its third phase (2019-2025), it aims to strengthen AMEXCID's institutional capacities, enhance its development cooperation policy, and foster strategic alliances. This role is part of AMEXCID's Executive Directorate, focusing on educational cooperation.
Job Purpose
This role is responsible for designing, negotiating, and coordinating educational cooperation initiatives within AMEXCID, ensuring alignment with national development priorities, institutional frameworks, and Mexico's international commitments. The Specialist will contribute to strengthening South-South cooperation by developing institutional capacities for managing international development cooperation, enhancing Mexico's cooperation policy (both receiving and offering), promoting strategic alliances, and supporting the implementation of the Integral Development Plan. The position involves participating in negotiations for dual education agreements, providing input on technical training programs, supervising databases for scholarship and educational projects, and coordinating teams for strategic educational actions.
Responsibilities
The Specialist will participate in negotiations to establish dual education agreements with foreign universities and homologous agencies. They will provide input on technical training programs and educational plans transferred by Mexico to Central American and Caribbean countries. Responsibilities include supervising the administration of databases related to scholarship and educational cooperation projects. Furthermore, the role involves coordinating work teams for the integration of programs, projects, and strategic actions in educational matters. The Specialist will be instrumental in designing, negotiating, and coordinating educational cooperation, ensuring its alignment with national development priorities and international commitments.
Work Experience
Candidates with a Bachelor's degree require 7 years of experience in administrative management and inter-institutional linkage. Those with a Master's degree require 5 years of experience in these areas. Experience in reviewing educational plans, managing databases, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams is also relevant.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, negotiation skills, and experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams are required. Desired skills include experience reviewing educational plans, database management, report automation, and monitoring/evaluating academic or educational activities.
