This role contributes to the 'Institutional Efficiency' outcome, supporting protected areas within the Gran Selva Maya Biocultural Corridor.
Job Purpose
The Project Associate will support the Sinergia+ project by managing and monitoring initiatives within the Gran Selva Maya Biocultural Corridor. This involves assisting protected areas (ANP) in fulfilling their work plan priorities and strategic objectives. The role is crucial for enhancing institutional efficiency by coordinating progress reports, facilitating meetings and events, and providing technical support to harmonize efforts among ANPs, ADVCs, and OMECs. The position also supports project management and tracking in alignment with the 2030 strategy, working under the supervision of the Directorate General of Concertation and Coordination and the Project Sinergia+ Coordination.
Responsibilities
Provide advisory and coordination support for progress reports and follow-up requests from protected areas within the Gran Selva Maya Biocultural Corridor. Propose annual priorities for CONANP's engagement in the corridor. Organize and facilitate meetings, events, workshops, and missions to track CONANP's participation. Promote coordination and offer technical support to ANPs, ADVCs, and OMECs within the corridor to foster harmonization and synergy. Assist in the management and follow-up of projects within the corridor, collaborating with partners to achieve implementation goals by 2030.
Work Experience
For candidates with a high school diploma, 7 years of verifiable experience are required. For those with a university degree, 4 years of experience are needed in integrated ecosystem management, community forestry, or participatory planning.
Skills
Required: Quality report writing, planning, coordination, and facilitation. Desired: Environmental governance in rural communities, project design and implementation, public policy implementation in environmental matters, monitoring, and evaluation.
