The Governance, Rule of Law, and Peacebuilding (GRP) Hub, in collaboration with the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support (BPPS), enhances UNDP's impact on governance and peacebuilding. The Local Action Unit works with local governments to deliver integrated solutions, recognizing their crucial role in SDG implementation and public service delivery.
Job Purpose
This Finance Analyst role supports the sound financial management of the Mayors Challenge project in Benin City, Nigeria. The project, a winner of the 2025 Mayors Challenge, aims to expand women's access to vital healthcare through innovative digital platforms and community outreach. The Finance Analyst will ensure the effective implementation of project activities by providing comprehensive financial and administrative support, monitoring budgets, processing payments, and coordinating with various stakeholders. This position is critical for the successful delivery of the CONTRAconnect platform, which seeks to reach 250,000 women with essential health services and information over two years, contributing to improved community well-being and SDG achievement.
Responsibilities
The Finance Analyst is responsible for ensuring effective financial management and administrative coordination for the Mayors Challenge project. This includes providing financial and administrative support in line with UNDP regulations, monitoring budgets and expenditures, reviewing payment requests and financial records for accuracy and compliance, and supporting budget planning and forecasting. The role also involves maintaining financial and administrative filing systems, coordinating with project teams, partners, vendors, and UNDP operations, and monitoring deadlines for payments and reporting. Additionally, the Finance Analyst will support procurement and contract management processes, review vendor invoices, and contribute to improving operational workflows. The position requires contributing to financial and operational reports, ensuring compliance with UNDP procedures, coordinating documentation for audits, and identifying and escalating financial or administrative issues. The role also supports knowledge management and ensures the confidentiality and integrity of financial information.
Work Experience
Applicants with a Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field are not required to have professional work experience. Those with a Bachelor's degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in financial management or managing staff and operational systems. Experience in project administration, record keeping, and using basic office applications is desired.
