Organizational Context

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Moldova is implementing the "Enhancing social cohesion in Moldova through dialogue and community empowerment" SCPI Phase II Project. This four-year joint project, supported by Switzerland, aims to strengthen social cohesion, democratic resilience, and sustainable peace by institutionalizing social cohesion at national and local governance levels. It addresses challenges like low public trust, polarization, and the impacts of regional instability.

Job Purpose

The Project Analyst will support the effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities under the "Enhancing social cohesion in Moldova through dialogue and community empowerment" SCPI Phase II Project. This role is crucial for ensuring the project's alignment with UNDP's results-based management principles and operational procedures. The incumbent will facilitate coordination with implementing partners and stakeholders, contributing to the project's objective of strengthening social cohesion, democratic resilience, and sustainable peace in Moldova. The position plays a key part in bridging project activities with operational realities, ensuring quality delivery and effective stakeholder engagement to achieve project outcomes.

Responsibilities

The Project Analyst is responsible for supporting project planning and implementation, including the preparation and updating of work plans and detailed implementation plans, and ensuring compliance with UNDP procedures. This involves providing technical and coordination support to implementing partners and ensuring gender equality and social inclusion considerations are integrated. The role includes managing stakeholder coordination and partnerships through regular communication and effective working relationships with partners, government counterparts, and civil society. The incumbent will also support monitoring, evaluation, and reporting by developing and implementing the M&E framework, conducting monitoring visits, analyzing data, and preparing high-quality reports. Furthermore, the Project Analyst will facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity development by documenting lessons learned and contributing to training activities, while also ensuring close coordination with internal UNDP units for operational and financial compliance.

Work Experience

Applicants with a Master's degree are not required to have professional work experience. Those with a Bachelor's degree must have a minimum of two years of progressive experience in project implementation, coordination, or monitoring within development contexts. Experience in monitoring project activities, results tracking, field visits, and reporting, particularly with Results-Based Management (RBM) approaches, is highly desirable.
