Organizational Context
The UNDP's 2022-2025 Strategic Plan focuses on environmental sustainability and climate action, aligning with the 2030 Agenda and Paris Agreement. The Regional Hub for Latin America and the Caribbean supports 24 countries, with the Environment and Energy Team implementing the "District Cooling in LAC" project. This role supports the project's programmatic management and technical coordination.
Job Purpose
The Project Analyst will support the programmatic management and technical coordination of the "District Cooling in LAC" project, funded by the European Commission. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth delivery of project outputs and promoting market transformation for large commercial air conditioning sectors in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Grenada. The analyst will help build national capacities, strengthen institutions, and align public and private capital with SDGs, contributing to environmental sustainability and climate goals within the Latin America and Caribbean region.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive programme management support, including annual work planning, activity follow-up, and managing contribution agreements. Monitor income and expenditures, prepare financial reports for donors, and draft work plans, budgets, and proposals. Support new project document formulation and ensure compliance with UNDP financial regulations. Assist in technical implementation by ensuring activities align with work plans and objectives, providing technical guidance, and preparing/reviewing technical documentation. Contribute to procurement and administration by supporting procurement plans, overseeing processes, and assisting with audits. Facilitate knowledge management, capacity building, and advocacy by organizing training, documenting best practices, and contributing to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
Work Experience
Master's degree holders are not required to have professional work experience. Bachelor's degree holders must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in project management and technical support. Desired experience includes working with global vertical fund programs, UNDP projects, the UN system, international organizations, governments, donors, and using Quantum and PIMS+ platforms.
