Job Purpose
The Analyst of Governance provides transversal support to the implementation of the UNDP's Democratic Governance portfolio in Peru. This role contributes to achieving program results by offering technical, analytical, and operational assistance to various initiatives. The purpose is to strengthen institutions, promote transparency, and foster active citizenship for inclusive and sustainable development, in line with the CPD 2022-2026. The analyst will be instrumental in identifying strategic opportunities, supporting project design and formulation, monitoring ongoing initiatives, facilitating stakeholder coordination, and contributing to knowledge management and learning processes within the governance area.
Responsibilities
The Analyst of Governance is responsible for supporting the design of new initiatives by identifying strategic opportunities, developing project proposals, and providing technical support for co-design processes with various stakeholders. They will monitor ongoing initiatives, ensuring objectives and indicators are met, and facilitate feedback and reporting. The role involves assisting in project and portfolio management, coordinating activities, ensuring alignment with UNDP standards and national priorities, and identifying synergies. Additionally, the analyst will foster strategic partnerships with government, civil society, and the private sector, and contribute to knowledge management by documenting lessons learned and promoting visibility of program results. This includes mapping and analyzing opportunities for integrity and anti-corruption efforts.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (with a Master's degree) or 4 years (with a Bachelor's degree) in designing, implementing, or managing projects related to institutional strengthening, governance, public policy, or public management is required. Experience in project management or technical assistance within the UN system, public sector, or international cooperation is desirable. Experience in coordinating with public entities, the private sector, and civil society is also desirable.
Skills
Key competencies include achieving results, innovative thinking, continuous learning, adaptability, determination, facilitating diversity and inclusion, and participating/partnering. Technical skills encompass systemic thinking, project management, event planning and execution, digital asset management, and awareness in digital and innovation. Expertise in governance and territorial development, and the 2030 Agenda for Peace are also essential.
