Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, in partnership with Japan, is implementing a project to support urgent recovery and strengthen resilience amidst the ongoing full-scale invasion. This initiative focuses on addressing the cumulative damage and immediate challenges arising from intensified attacks, promoting Human Security through integrated, multi-sectoral responses. The project aims to catalyze recovery by focusing on essential services, socio-economic resilience, and transparent recovery processes, leveraging Japanese expertise and fostering public-private partnerships.
Job Purpose
The Capacity Development Analyst will play a crucial role in the planning, conceptualization, development, and implementation of capacity development initiatives within the UNDP project in Ukraine. This position is vital for enhancing the skills and capabilities of national and local partners to effectively respond to the complex recovery needs arising from the ongoing conflict. The analyst will contribute to strengthening institutional capacities, facilitating knowledge sharing, and ensuring the successful execution of project activities aimed at promoting Human Security and building back better. The role involves coordinating training programs, developing resources, monitoring progress, and fostering partnerships to achieve project objectives and support Ukraine's recovery efforts.
Responsibilities
The Capacity Development Analyst is responsible for coordinating the planning, development, and implementation of capacity development processes. This includes organizing and overseeing training initiatives, workshops, and awareness-raising events. The role involves contributing to the development of models for community-based support services and providing capacity development support to mine victim assistance centers and related facilities. The analyst will also monitor project progress, report on achievements, and ensure coherence with other donor and Ukrainian institutional initiatives. Establishing and maintaining communication channels with national and local authorities, public and private entities, and other stakeholders is key. Furthermore, the analyst will facilitate information and knowledge sharing, lead the production of learning materials, coordinate research and analysis on rehabilitation and disability inclusion, and ensure the mainstreaming of gender equality and disability inclusion in all project activities.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required for candidates with a Master's degree, or 4 years for those with a Bachelor's degree. Experience should be at the national or international level in institutional reform, capacity building of public institutions, or project management. Desirable experience includes leading needs assessments, designing and delivering capacity enhancement initiatives, mobilizing expertise, cooperating with governmental and international agencies, and delivering training.
