Job Purpose
This role supports the formulation and implementation of communication strategies for a project focused on strengthening public policy for homeless individuals in Colombia. The Assistant Technical Officer will contribute to defining messages and dissemination channels, ensuring clear and technically sound communication. The position involves developing communication products, supporting monitoring and evaluation of communication efforts, and facilitating knowledge sharing. The goal is to enhance the visibility of project impacts and foster community engagement through effective communication, aligning with UNDP's development objectives and the specific needs of vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Technical Officer will support the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies for the project, including planning, content creation, and dissemination across various channels (print, digital, audiovisual, social media). Key duties involve ensuring clear, inclusive, and technically accurate language in all communications through style correction and text review. The role includes producing communication materials, supporting the validation of content quality, and monitoring the reach and impact of communication activities. Additionally, the position will assist in gathering and disseminating project learnings, best practices, and relevant data, contributing to capacity building and knowledge exchange within the organization and with partners.
Work Experience
Minimum five years of relevant experience with a high school diploma, or two years with a university degree. Experience should be in at least two of the following areas: developing communication content and strategies for social, development, gender, or cultural issues; strategic communication planning and management, community engagement, and communication for development; or designing and creating audiovisual content.
