The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is a global organization focused on sustainable development and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Within its Bureau for Policy and Programme Support (BPPS), the Global Fund Partnership Health Systems Team (GFPHST) supports country offices in implementing health programs, particularly those funded by the Global Fund. Job Purpose
This internship aims to provide support to the UNDP-Global Fund Partnership Health Systems Team in Geneva, focusing on risk management and compliance within health programs. The intern will assist in tracking audit findings, maintaining risk registers, and analyzing data to identify trends and systemic issues. The role involves compiling and structuring datasets, developing visualizations, and supporting reporting for management. This position offers practical experience in data analysis, risk monitoring, and compliance within the context of international development and global health initiatives, contributing to the effective implementation of health projects and strengthening national capacities.
Responsibilities
The intern will support risk management and compliance activities by tracking and analyzing audit findings and recommendations, and maintaining risk and compliance trackers with follow-up actions. Responsibilities include contributing to portfolio-level risk analysis, identifying recurring compliance gaps, and preparing input for risk reporting. The role involves compiling, cleaning, and structuring datasets related to the Global Fund portfolio, and supporting data analysis to identify trends and emerging risks. The intern will assist in developing data visualizations and dashboards, and interpreting analytical outputs for management decision-making. Additionally, the intern will support portfolio monitoring and reporting through data aggregation and synthesis, produce content for management briefings, and contribute to the development of reporting templates. Support will also be provided for knowledge management, including documenting processes and contributing to guidance materials and research on key risk topics.
Work Experience
A background in international development, global health, public policy, or a related field is required. Experience with web-based applications, data visualization software, and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is necessary. Familiarity with risk management, compliance, or gender and safeguarding issues is beneficial. The ability to work effectively in a multicultural and collaborative environment is also important.

Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret complex datasets; proficiency in Excel; knowledge of Power BI or similar tools is an asset; experience in data cleaning, validation, and visualization; ability to present data clearly; strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to handle sensitive information discreetly; strong writing skills.
