Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the BIOFIN and BBT teams within UNDP Armenia by contributing to research, analysis, organizational coordination, communications, and program support. The intern will play a key role in advancing biodiversity finance initiatives, particularly in preparation for COP17. This involves conducting background research on biodiversity finance, public expenditure, and policy; assisting with event preparation and stakeholder engagement; and supporting communication efforts to raise awareness and share knowledge. The role offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in international development, environmental policy, and sustainable finance within a UN context.
Responsibilities
The intern will provide research and analytical support for strategic documents, policy materials, and knowledge products related to biodiversity finance, public finance, and sustainable development. This includes conducting background analysis, preparing briefing notes, concept notes, and presentations, and researching international best practices and innovative financing mechanisms. The role also involves supporting organizational coordination for BIOFIN-related events, including meeting preparation, documentation, and logistical support. Additionally, the intern will contribute to communication and visibility efforts by drafting content for various materials, supporting internal and external communications, and developing products for knowledge sharing and awareness raising.
Work Experience
Prior volunteer, academic, or internship experience in research, policy analysis, environmental sustainability, biodiversity, event organization, or international development is desirable. Familiarity with biodiversity, sustainable development, public finance, or environmental governance is advantageous. Experience engaging diverse stakeholders and knowledge of the UN system are also considered beneficial.

Excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Ability to think logically and work with attention to detail. Ability to write clearly and concisely. Initiative, sound judgment, and ability to work harmoniously in a multicultural environment. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Interest in UN/UNDP work and development field. Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office applications). Strong interactive and interpersonal skills.
