The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is a global organization dedicated to poverty eradication, inequality reduction, and climate change mitigation. The Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN) works with countries to increase and optimize financial resources for biodiversity conservation and sustainable use. In Mexico, BIOFIN collaborates with FIRA (Trusts Instituted in Relation to Agriculture) to strengthen financial mobilization and develop innovative financial instruments for biodiversity, particularly within the agricultural and financial sectors.
Job Purpose
This role provides essential technical and coordination support for the effective implementation of the joint work program between BIOFIN and FIRA in Mexico. The position is crucial for ensuring the smooth execution of collaborative activities, facilitating communication, and tracking progress towards shared objectives. The Auxiliary Technician will assist in organizing meetings, workshops, and other institutional events, ensuring alignment between BIOFIN and FIRA teams. This support is vital for advancing the strategic cooperation, which aims to mobilize increased and optimized financial resources for biodiversity conservation, develop innovative financial instruments, and build technical capacities within key sectors, ultimately contributing to Mexico's national and international biodiversity commitments.
Responsibilities
The Auxiliary Technician will provide operational and technical support for the BIOFIN-FIRA joint work program. Key duties include organizing and facilitating meetings, workshops, and other institutional activities, ensuring effective coordination and follow-up on agreements. The role involves supporting the planning, implementation, monitoring, and systematization of the program, contributing to the achievement of its objectives. Additionally, the position requires assisting in the preparation of periodic reports, compiling and systematizing project information, tracking progress, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting the development of technical documents. The Auxiliary Technician will also contribute to knowledge management by supporting the creation of communication materials and facilitating the exchange of best practices. Other related functions as needed for the effective operation of the office and the organization will also be performed.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience is required, with a secondary education, in activities related to financing, agricultural analysis, or research in agricultural topics. Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, generating reports and executive presentations, and analyzing/systematizing data is also necessary.
Skills
Experience in multidisciplinary teams, report generation, data analysis and systematization, project management, and familiarity with monitoring and evaluation tools are required. Experience in research tasks is also desirable.
