The UNDP Seoul Policy Centre (USPC), established in 2011, represents UNDP in the Republic of Korea. It works with the ROK on international development priorities and shares ROK's development experience globally. As a policy centre, USPC facilitates innovative development cooperation for SDGs, focusing on areas like private sector engagement and development, and brokers partnerships between Korea and other countries to address development challenges.
Job Purpose
This internship offers an opportunity to gain direct exposure to UNDP's work and acquire technical knowledge in international development and multilateral cooperation. The intern will support the UNDP Seoul Policy Centre's private sector engagement and development initiatives, contributing to building partnerships, facilitating knowledge exchange, and conducting research on SDG-aligned business strategies. The role also involves supporting communication, advocacy, and outreach efforts, particularly focused on engaging the private sector, and assisting with administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Centre's programmatic work and SDG Partnership country-support programmes.
Responsibilities
Support the Centre’s private sector engagement and development work by building and strengthening partnerships, facilitating knowledge exchange among the ROK, UNDP, and developing countries with private sector actors for SDG achievement. Conduct research on private sector engagement and development issues, including SDG-aligned business strategies, MSME support policies, digital transformation, green transition, and SDG financing trends. Assist in designing and implementing the SDG Partnership country-support programme and the Impact Startup Accelerator. Support the organization of UNDP meetings and events related to private sector engagement. Contribute to communication, advocacy, and outreach efforts by supporting the production of web and social media content, digital/multimedia materials, and advocacy materials. Draft, copyedit, and translate content between English and Korean. Perform administrative tasks, including taking meeting records, supporting outreach activities, assisting with incoming missions, maintaining databases, and other ad hoc activities.
Work Experience
No specific work experience is explicitly required, but demonstrated research and analytical capacity, administrative skills in organizing meetings and events, and the ability to manage diverse and complex tasks with tight deadlines are expected. Familiarity with social media and creative design tools is an asset.
