The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Guinea supports innovative approaches to digital transformation, innovation, and the responsible use of emerging technologies. The TREMPLIN project aims to strengthen the national innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, promote inclusive digital solutions, and improve youth and women's employability. This role contributes to the operational implementation of this project.
Job Purpose
The Project Manager will be responsible for the operational implementation of the TREMPLIN project, under the supervision of the Team Leader. This involves coordinating planning and effective project execution, managing daily activities, and ensuring optimal resource utilization to achieve project objectives. The role requires developing and maintaining strong partnerships with stakeholders, providing technical support, and facilitating knowledge sharing and capacity building. The Project Manager will also be responsible for monitoring progress, reporting on outcomes, and ensuring the project aligns with UNDP's programmatic coherence, operational efficiency, and quality standards, while integrating gender equality principles.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include coordinating project planning and implementation, developing work plans and budgets, and managing daily activities to ensure timely delivery of outputs within budget and quality standards. This involves facilitating interactive platforms, collaborating with other units, and ensuring compliance with UNDP policies. The role also entails establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships with government, private sector, NGOs, and other stakeholders, conducting stakeholder analysis, and providing technical support. Furthermore, the Project Manager will monitor project progress against results frameworks, manage emerging issues and risks, collaborate with finance teams, and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders. Facilitating knowledge management, capacity building, and advocacy efforts, including documenting best practices and lessons learned, is also a core function. The role may involve other tasks deemed necessary for the effective functioning of the office.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in development project management and implementation is required for candidates with a Master's degree. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree require a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, results-based management, and multi-stakeholder coordination is desirable.
Skills
Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management systems. Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation, results-based management, and multi-stakeholder coordination. Experience in innovation, digital, or digital transformation is an asset. Knowledge of RBM approaches and UNDP procedures. Ability to analyze data and produce quality reports. Fluency in French (oral and written) is required; good knowledge of English is desirable.
