Job Purpose
The Project Associate will provide crucial support to the UNDP Ukraine District Heating Programme, contributing to effective project delivery under challenging wartime and recovery conditions. The role focuses on facilitating stakeholder engagement, communication, and outreach, coordinating with municipalities, financial institutions, and national counterparts. The incumbent will assist in organizing consultations and events, manage knowledge, documentation, and reporting, and ensure clear communication and timely information exchange to support the program's objectives of strengthening institutional capacity and facilitating access to sustainable finance for district heating infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive project management assistance, including administrative, operational, and logistical support for day-to-day implementation, ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and procedures. Support financial, procurement, and human resources processes, including managing financial resources, assisting with procurement, and facilitating recruitment. Facilitate knowledge building and management by supporting project events, synthesizing lessons learned, and providing high-quality interpretation and translation services. Coordinate effectively with project teams, municipalities, partner banks, and national counterparts, promoting a client-oriented approach and ensuring adherence to UNDP rules and regulations.
Work Experience
A minimum of seven years of experience with secondary education, or four years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, in administration or project management assistance is required. Experience with UN/UNDP, international organizations, or development organizations is desired.
Skills
Proficiency in computer and office software packages. Strong communication, project management, and event management abilities. Experience with ERP systems like Quantum is desired. Fluency in English and Ukrainian is required.
