Job Purpose
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Analyst supports the effective implementation of corporate evaluation policies and ensures compliance with M&E requirements for the Country Programme Document (CPD), joint programmes, and projects. This role facilitates decentralized evaluations and works closely with programme teams to ensure timely execution of thematic, outcome, programme, and project evaluations. The Analyst is responsible for tracking findings and recommendations, ensuring their implementation and contributing to a culture of evaluation excellence within the Country Office. The position aims to enhance the quality and impact of UNDP's development interventions in Guatemala through robust M&E practices.
Responsibilities
The M&E Analyst is responsible for planning and implementing monitoring activities, including supporting CPD implementation, analyzing programme coherence, and tracking corporate dashboards. They will monitor performance indicators, objectives, and milestones, and support the implementation of Results-Based Management tools. The role involves providing guidance during programme/project design to ensure quality results frameworks. Additionally, the Analyst supports the effective management of the evaluation process by preparing and synthesizing evaluation proposals, drafting Terms of Reference (TOR), and participating in consultant selection. They will provide guidance on UNDP evaluation policies and procedures, analyze evaluation findings, and track recommendation implementation. A key function is facilitating knowledge building and sharing in M&E, identifying lessons learned, and contributing to learning strategies.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in monitoring and evaluation is required. Experience in data analysis, report writing, and supporting programme/project design and implementation is essential. Experience with UN evaluation policies and procedures is desirable.
