Job Purpose
This role supports the UNDP's project in the Indio River basin, which aims to strengthen land tenure security and promote sustainable development through a cadastral and titling program. The objective is to develop cadastral surveys for approximately 60,000 hectares and manage the issuance of property titles. The position also involves verifying land measurements for resettlement projects, ensuring effective community participation, and promoting the inclusion of women as property owners. The role is crucial for addressing land tenure insecurity, reducing community vulnerability, and enhancing opportunities for investment and sustainable land management within the basin.
Responsibilities
The Cadastral Planning and Control Technical Assistant is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising field activities for cadastral information generation. This includes ensuring appropriate technology use, adherence to national regulations, and quality control of collected data. The role involves coordinating with field teams, managing documentation and case files, and supporting public outreach and community engagement for the titling program. Key duties include operational planning, monitoring field progress against schedules, supervising work quality, and resolving field issues. The assistant will also perform technical quality control of cadastral and GIS data, manage documentation, and report on progress and indicators. Additionally, safeguarding assigned equipment and vehicles is required.
Work Experience
Proven experience in cadastral processes, land surveying, or related field operations is necessary. Experience in supervising field teams, quality control of technical data, and managing documentation for land titling projects is highly desirable. Familiarity with GIS and relevant software is also beneficial.
