Job Purpose
The Driver provides essential transportation services for operations and program staff, consultants, experts, and UN personnel on mission within the Country Office (CO). This role ensures reliable and safe vehicle operation for authorized personnel, mail, document, and package delivery. The driver also supports official visitors by providing logistical assistance from arrival to departure, coordinating with Administration as needed. A key aspect of the role is cost reduction through efficient vehicle use, daily record-keeping, and contributing to maintenance planning. The driver is responsible for the daily upkeep and cleanliness of the assigned vehicle, ensuring all necessary documents and safety equipment are available, and adhering to regulations in case of accidents.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include operating office vehicles to transport authorized personnel, delivering and collecting mail, documents, and packages. The driver will provide logistical support to official visitors during their missions, coordinating airport transfers and other necessary arrangements. Cost reduction is achieved through proper vehicle usage, daily record-keeping, and contributing to maintenance planning. Daily vehicle maintenance, including checks on oil, water, battery, brakes, and tires, is required, along with performing minor repairs. The vehicle must be kept clean and in good condition. Ensuring the availability of required documents (insurance, registration) and supplies (maps, first-aid kit, spare parts) is crucial. The driver must also follow all immediate actions required by regulations in the event of an accident.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional driving experience is required. This includes a thorough understanding of transportation rules and procedures. Previous experience with the United Nations or other international organizations is considered an advantage.

Customer service and client management, risk management, records and correspondence management, insurance management, security awareness (air, road, fire safety), travel policy and procedures knowledge, and vehicle fleet management knowledge.
