Job Purpose
The Project Manager will be instrumental in the operational implementation of the TREMPLIN project, reporting to the Team Leader TEN. This role is crucial for ensuring programmatic coherence, operational efficiency, and the successful achievement of project objectives. The incumbent will manage daily project activities, oversee the entire implementation process, and provide specialized technical guidance. Key contributions include optimizing resource utilization, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of project outputs within budget, and facilitating interactive platforms. The role also involves building strategic partnerships, managing stakeholder engagement, and supporting resource mobilization efforts to advance the project's goals in innovation, digital solutions, and youth/women's employability.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager is responsible for the effective planning and implementation of projects, including developing work plans and budgets based on rigorous capacity assessments and UNDP guidelines. This involves coordinating daily activities, optimizing resource use, and ensuring project objectives are met. The role requires facilitating inclusive platforms, ensuring compliance with UNDP policies, and integrating gender equality. Operational management includes timely procurement and efficient management of human, technical, and financial resources. Establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with government, private sector, NGOs, and beneficiaries is essential. The Project Manager will monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves facilitating knowledge sharing, capacity building, and advocacy, documenting best practices, and contributing to knowledge networks. Other functional tasks as deemed necessary for the office's smooth operation are also expected.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in development project management and implementation is required for candidates with a Master's degree. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree require a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, results-based management, and multi-stakeholder coordination is desired.
Skills
Proficiency in office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management systems. Experience in monitoring and evaluation, results-based management, and multi-stakeholder coordination. Knowledge of RBM approaches and UNDP procedures. Ability to analyze data and produce quality reports. Experience in innovation, digital solutions, or digital transformation is an asset. Fluency in French (oral and written) is required; good knowledge of English is desirable.
