On-Call Security Guard

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide on-call security services to ensure the safety and security of UNDP personnel, assets, and premises in Sarajevo. The Security Guard will respond to security incidents, monitor surveillance systems, and enforce security protocols. This position is crucial for maintaining a secure working environment, enabling UNDP staff to carry out their development mandates effectively and without undue risk. The role contributes directly to the operational continuity and safety of UNDP's presence in the region.

Responsibilities

Respond to security alarms and emergencies, providing immediate assistance and reporting incidents. Patrol assigned areas to ensure the security of buildings, grounds, and personnel. Monitor surveillance equipment (CCTV) and access control systems. Control access to UNDP facilities, verifying identification and authorizing entry. Enforce security policies and procedures, including visitor management and screening. Maintain logs and records of security activities, incidents, and observations. Conduct preliminary investigations of security breaches or disturbances. Assist with emergency evacuation procedures and provide support during crisis situations. Ensure the proper functioning of security equipment and report any malfunctions.

Work Experience

Previous experience as a security guard or in a related law enforcement or military role is required. Experience in a corporate or international organization setting is desirable. Proven ability to respond effectively to emergencies and security incidents.
