Organizational Context

The Malaysia-UN SDG Trust Fund, a partnership between the UN in Malaysia and MySDG Foundation, supports projects impacting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Malaysia. It focuses on initiatives for marginalized communities and encourages cross-sectoral collaboration. The Fund Secretariat, under the UN Resident Coordinator's Office (UN RCO), manages operations and supported projects.

Job Purpose

This internship aims to support the Malaysia-UN SDG Trust Fund Secretariat in managing its operations and assisting supported projects. The intern will contribute to communications, monitoring, and evaluation efforts, working closely with the Fund Secretariat and UN RCO. Key contributions include promoting the Fund, generating interest, and keeping stakeholders informed of relevant news and feedback. The role is designed to complement the intern's studies by providing practical experience in sustainable development initiatives and project support within a UN context.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing engaging content for the Fund's social media platforms and promotional materials, including drafting captions and simple visual graphics. Monitor social media for mentions of the Fund by grantees and stakeholders. Provide logistical and documentation support for events, such as managing RSVPs, capturing photos/videos, and documenting key highlights. Synthesize grantee monitoring documents for communication and M&E purposes. Conduct background research and due diligence on Fund applicants. Support the Secretariat in reviewing and processing grantee applications as needed. Offer additional support to colleagues as required to ensure smooth operations.

Work Experience

No specific prior work experience is required for this internship. However, candidates are expected to possess technical skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), knowledge of design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, and basic to intermediate video shooting/editing skills (e.g., CapCut).
