Digital Communications Associate [open To Internal And External Applicants]
Organizational Context
UN City Copenhagen hosts 10 UN organizations supporting global development and humanitarian operations. The Communications Team, part of UN City Common Services, enhances the visibility and understanding of UN work and Copenhagen's role as an operational hub. This role supports the team's coordination of digital communication and storytelling.
Job Purpose
The Digital Communications Associate supports the Communications Coordinator in managing digital platforms and developing digital storytelling products that highlight UN City Copenhagen and the work of resident agencies. This role involves producing communication materials for events, coordinating communication activities, implementing communication strategies, and engaging with UN entities. The position also focuses on leveraging data-informed communication practices and emerging technologies, including AI, to optimize communication workflows and enhance digital engagement, contributing to the overall mission of the UN in Copenhagen and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Responsibilities
Manage and optimize UN City Copenhagen's digital platforms, including the website, intranet, and social media channels, ensuring consistency and alignment. Develop and produce digital communication products, such as multimedia content and digital stories, highlighting UN activities and adhering to editorial standards. Monitor and analyze digital engagement across platforms to generate actionable insights for communication strategy and content development, supporting data-informed decisions and integrating AI-enabled workflows. Provide administrative and coordination support for the Communications Team, Common Services, and UN agencies. Contribute to knowledge networks and communities of practice, performing other duties as assigned for the efficient functioning of the office.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in Digital Communication is required with secondary education, or 3 years with a Bachelor's degree. Experience with computers and office software is necessary. Experience with content management systems (e.g., WordPress), Adobe Creative Suite, social media platforms, and AI-assisted content production tools is considered an asset, as is experience in administrative tasks and working within an international organization.

Digital platform management (website, intranet, social media), digital content production (multimedia, storytelling), social media trends analysis, digital analytics, knowledge generation, communication strategy, administrative support, coordination, proficiency in MS Office, familiarity with CMS (e.g., WordPress), Adobe Creative Suite, and AI-assisted content tools are desirable.
