Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mexico, in collaboration with the Government of Mexico, supports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) in strengthening its capacities for economic policy and international positioning. This project aligns with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, focusing on enhancing institutional capabilities for promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) amidst resource constraints and complex global dynamics.
Job Purpose
This role supports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) in Mexico by providing economic analysis related to North American economic relations. The purpose is to generate informative documents that assist SRE officials in meetings and working sessions, and to support economic negotiations and the definition of positions in economic committees. The role involves executing economic analysis methodologies to assess economic and trade relationships with the US and Canada, and monitoring relevant economic indicators, policies, and regulations to contribute to the SRE's mandate and the broader goals of the "Strengthening Capacities for Economic Impulse and Sustainable Development Goals" project.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include conducting economic analysis on North American economic relations to produce informative documents for SRE officials. This involves executing economic analysis methodologies to evaluate economic and trade relationships with the US and Canada, generating insights to support SRE actions. The role also entails supporting economic negotiations through analytical findings, contributing to the definition of positions in economic committees, and monitoring relevant economic indicators, policies, and regulations. The work is supervised by the Undersecretariat for North America and coordinated under the "Strengthening Capacities for Economic Impulse and Sustainable Development Goals" project.
Work Experience
Candidates with a high school diploma require 4 years of experience. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree require 1 year of experience. Relevant experience areas include international economics, data visualization, statistical analysis, and related fields. Experience in project planning and management, report writing, executive presentations, and oral communication is also required.
