Organizational Context

The ICT team is integral to the Country Office's operations, driving digital transformation and leveraging technology for efficiency and improved service delivery. The ICT Analyst, reporting to the Operations Manager, manages ICT services, implements management systems, and advises on new technologies to enhance productivity. This role leads the ICT team and collaborates across departments and with UNDP HQ.

Job Purpose

The ICT Analyst is responsible for managing and enhancing the Country Office's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services. This includes developing and implementing ICT strategies, managing hardware and software, and ensuring efficient network administration to support UNDP's digital transformation efforts. The role involves advising on new technologies, overseeing procurement, and ensuring compliance with corporate standards. Additionally, the ICT Analyst facilitates knowledge building and sharing within the office, contributing to smarter, more efficient business operations and improved service delivery to partners and beneficiaries. The position also involves leading and supervising the ICT team, fostering a client-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include implementing ICT strategies and introducing new technologies, ensuring compliance with corporate standards, and leading the ICT team. This involves analyzing ICT requirements, developing internal policies and SOPs, conducting market research for new technologies, and advising on ICT procurement. The role also entails developing and updating ICT plans, including business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Managing CO hardware and software packages, ensuring they meet corporate standards and business needs, is crucial. The ICT Analyst will engage with Operations and Programme teams to meet their automation and digitalization needs, including developing new software and automation tools. Efficient network administration, including monitoring resources, troubleshooting, ensuring security, and managing backup and restoration procedures, is also a core duty. Finally, the role involves facilitating knowledge building and sharing, organizing training, and synthesizing lessons learned.

Work Experience

A Master's degree holder in a relevant field does not require professional work experience. However, candidates with a Bachelor's degree must possess a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience. This experience should include developing and implementing ICT strategies, web design, developing web-based office applications, providing technical support for Cloud ERP environments, managing and supervising ICT services and teams, working with hardware/software platforms and telecommunications, and managing database applications and cloud infrastructure. Experience with user-centered designs, user research, and testing is also valuable.
