Organizational Context
The UNDP's Crisis Resilience unit, through the Sinergia+ project, aims to strengthen CONANP's capacity for results-based planning, financial management, and strategic partnerships. This role supports conservation and sustainable management in Protected Natural Areas (ANP) and Voluntary Conservation Areas (ADVC) by assisting with operational processes, technical follow-up, and territorial management related to environmental contingencies, subsidies, and community monitoring.
Job Purpose
This position contributes to the "Institutional Efficiency" goal of the Sinergia+ project. The role's purpose is to provide operational, technical, and territorial management support for environmental contingencies, subsidies, and community monitoring within Protected Natural Areas (ANP) and Voluntary Conservation Areas (ADVC). This involves assisting with the management and logistics of environmental contingency brigades, supporting the administration of subsidy programs (PROREST and PROCODES), and following up on forest management, carbon credits, biological monitoring, and community surveillance projects. The objective is to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of conservation efforts and sustainable management practices.
Responsibilities
Support the management and training of environmental contingency brigades in coordination with ANP and ADVC administrators. Assist with the logistics and command systems during environmental contingency operations and related administrative processes for the PROCODES contingency program. Contribute to the development of diagnoses, contingency plans, and final reports for environmental brigades. Monitor the operation and execution of PROREST and PROCODES subsidy programs by verifying and reviewing project files against operational rules. Support follow-up on studies and projects related to forest management, carbon credits, biological monitoring, and community surveillance within ANPs and ADVCs.
Work Experience
Two years of demonstrable experience in sustainable development or forest management is required for candidates with a High School Diploma. No experience is required for candidates with university-level degrees in Agronomy, Biology, Forestry, Ecology, or Sustainable Development.
Skills
Experience in writing and preparing technical reports. Proficiency with digital tools for information processing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Cartography. Experience in field work with communities. Experience in inspecting and verifying forest projects. Experience coordinating field brigades. Experience in forest management and field data collection. Experience organizing and systematizing technical and monitoring information. Availability to reside in Juchitán, Oaxaca.
