Job Purpose

The National Project Coordinator (PROMISE) will support the implementation of the PROMISE program, working under the supervision of the National Director and functional guidance from the Minister of SMEs and Handicrafts. The role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, providing strategic advice, and facilitating operational activities to promote youth entrepreneurship. The coordinator will contribute to the program's objective of transforming the economy through productive entrepreneurship, creating decent jobs, and fostering economic sovereignty, in line with national development strategies and international agendas like the SDGs and Agenda 2063.

Responsibilities

The National Project Coordinator will provide strategic advice to the National Director on program interventions and alignment with national development plans. This includes interacting with stakeholders, preparing briefing notes, proposing innovative solutions and partnerships, and suggesting governance actions to enhance the SME sector. The role involves supporting the ecosystem for entrepreneurship through strategic planning and operational coordination, mapping ongoing projects, facilitating dialogues, and developing monitoring and evaluation tools. Additionally, the coordinator will facilitate the strategic steering committee, develop partnership and resource mobilization strategies, and ensure effective planning and management of program activities, with a focus on gender equity and compliance with government and donor requirements.

Work Experience

The role requires experience in project implementation, strategic advice, stakeholder coordination, and partnership development within the entrepreneurship or economic development sector.
