Job Purpose
The Small Grants Programme Assistant supports the daily implementation of the SGP in CAR, ensuring alignment with project objectives and work plans. This role assists the National Coordinator in pre-selecting project proposals, reviewing financial aspects, and developing program documents. The Assistant provides ongoing guidance to beneficiaries, supports project implementation, and facilitates meetings and events. Additionally, the role involves managing financial transactions, ensuring compliance with operational standards, and maintaining accurate project and stakeholder databases. The position contributes to achieving global environmental benefits through community-based initiatives and strengthens local capacity for climate action and sustainable livelihoods.
Responsibilities
The Small Grants Programme Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily implementation of the SGP, including project proposal review, financial assessment, and document development. This includes advising potential beneficiaries, providing ongoing support to ongoing and new projects, and assisting with field missions. The role involves organizing and preparing meeting minutes and other SGP events, maintaining professional relationships with stakeholders, and ensuring timely reporting to central program secretariats and the UNDP Country Office. Financial responsibilities include reviewing financial reports, processing payments, managing the petty cash fund, and maintaining accounting and budget databases. Administrative duties encompass procurement, office management, record-keeping, and supporting audits. The Assistant also contributes to knowledge management, communication efforts, and ensuring compliance with branding guidelines.
Work Experience
