Job Purpose
The Programme Analyst will contribute to the UNDP Jordan's Governance and Social Cohesion Pillar by supporting the design, planning, and implementation of integrated programmes. This role is crucial for advancing UNDP's strategic positioning in governance and social cohesion by delivering projects, fostering partnerships, and contributing to knowledge generation and policy dialogue. The Analyst will provide technical and analytical support, conduct research, and ensure effective programme delivery aligned with national priorities and UNDP frameworks, ultimately contributing to resilience, institutional effectiveness, and inclusive development in Jordan.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include ensuring effective programme planning and implementation, supporting the design and execution of governance and social cohesion initiatives, and preparing project documents and budgets. The role involves providing substantive technical and analytical support on governance, social cohesion, human rights, and institutional development, including policy research and evidence generation. Monitoring, evaluation, and reporting are critical, requiring support for tracking results, risks, and performance indicators, and contributing to donor and internal reports. Building partnerships and coordination with government, donors, and other stakeholders is essential, as is ensuring quality assurance of project deliverables and capturing lessons learned for knowledge management. The role may also involve providing guidance and technical oversight to project personnel.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant experience is required with a Master's degree, or four years with a Bachelor's degree. Experience should focus on human rights, preventing violent extremism (PVE), peacebuilding, elections, and institutional development. Experience in programme/project management, stakeholder coordination, analytical research, and results-based management is essential.
Skills
Programme and project management, stakeholder coordination, analytical and research skills, results-based management (RBM), report and policy brief drafting, working in multi-disciplinary/multi-cultural environments. Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Experience with UNDP procedures, resource mobilization, and knowledge management is desirable.
