Job Purpose
The Technical Assistant role supports the Project Manager, UNDP Programme Officer, and National Technical Coordination in the implementation of a project focused on integrated landscape management in Rio de Janeiro's Atlantic Forest. The purpose is to provide technical assistance and monitoring to ensure the successful execution of project activities, including planning, monitoring, evaluation, and coordination. This position contributes to the restoration and conservation of biodiversity, sustainable forestry practices, and the development of a bioeconomy, aligning with the State's Biodiversity Action Plan and aiming for increased forest cover and climate change mitigation. The role is crucial for harmonizing technical, administrative, and operational aspects of the project.
Responsibilities
The Technical Assistant provides crucial support for the project's technical planning, monitoring, and evaluation. This includes analyzing and revising project indicators and targets, implementing evaluation tools, and preparing technical reports. The role also involves supporting the technical management and coordination of the project by assisting with stakeholder meetings, preparing presentations, and performing other duties to ensure efficient execution. Additionally, the assistant will oversee and monitor specialized consultancies, analyze their deliverables for quality and timeliness, and support the coordination of training activities. Support will be provided for developing technical instruments, protocols, and Terms of Reference. The role also entails supporting territorial implementation by visiting base organizations and monitoring action plans for partners, as well as fostering inter-institutional articulation and cooperation through suggested integrated actions and support for negotiations. Finally, the assistant will contribute to institutional communication, participate in project instances, monitor safeguards, and facilitate knowledge management and sharing.
