Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Türkiye Country Office is implementing its 2026-2030 Country Programme Document, focusing on governance, social development, economic development, and climate resilience. Job Purpose
The Communications Associate will support the Communications Analyst in executing the UNDP Türkiye Country Office's communication strategy. This involves managing digital content across social media and the UNDP website, creating engaging materials such as web stories and press releases, and monitoring online engagement. The role also includes organizing public information activities, tracking media coverage, and providing administrative support for communication initiatives. A key aspect is ensuring clear, coherent, and impactful communication to effectively position UNDP's results and value proposition within Türkiye's dynamic development landscape, contributing to the overall success of the Country Programme Document.
Responsibilities
Assist in the implementation of the Communications Strategic Plan. Manage and update UNDP Türkiye's online presence, including social media platforms and the country office website, ensuring content is current and engaging. Collect data and content for various communication products like web stories, blogs, press releases, and fact sheets. Monitor social media traffic and engagement, preparing quarterly performance reports using analytic tools. Organize public information and advocacy activities, and monitor UNDP's media coverage, preparing relevant reports. Maintain administrative records for communication activities, including budget monitoring and filing. Provide translation services between English and Turkish as needed. Support the Communications Analyst in delivering efficient and effective communication services.
Work Experience
Minimum 7 years of communications experience (including story/communication materials, video production, website management) with secondary education, OR minimum 4 years of similar experience with a Bachelor's degree. Experience with UN agencies or international development organizations is an asset.
Skills
Excellent writing, interpretation, and communication skills. Strong analytical aptitude and attention to detail. Proven ability to draft various communication products. Understanding of new and evolving digital technologies and platforms. Experience with social media, multimedia, and digital platforms. Ability to interact with diverse governmental and non-governmental actors. Experience producing print and online communication materials. Digital asset management and multimedia writing/editing skills are beneficial.
