Organizational Context

Job Purpose
This role provides essential technical and operational support for the monitoring and control of UNDP Paraguay's infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on those funded by ITAIPÚ Binacional. The Project Technical Assistant will conduct on-site and documentary technical follow-ups, assist the General Coordinator in daily project management, and ensure effective project planning and implementation. This includes supporting work plan execution, budget management, quality assurance of services, and procurement processes. The position also involves fostering partnerships, supporting monitoring and evaluation, and contributing to knowledge management and sharing within the project and the wider organization.
Responsibilities
The Project Technical Assistant will support assigned infrastructure projects by conducting technical follow-ups in the field and through documentation, and assisting the General Coordinator in daily project management. Key duties include supporting effective project planning and implementation by ensuring alignment with project documents, work plans, and budgets; assisting in the preparation and updating of annual work plans and budgets; providing comprehensive support for project implementation, ensuring quality of services from consultants and contractors; supporting the development of Terms of Reference and analysis of technical reports; assisting in project procurement processes; maintaining coordination with project teams and stakeholders; and supporting gender equality mainstreaming. The role also involves supporting partnerships and resource mobilization, effective monitoring and evaluation, and knowledge management and sharing.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in project support, administration, or a related field is required. Experience in infrastructure project monitoring and control, or in a similar role within the UN system or an international organization, is desirable.
