Job Purpose
The Logistics Analyst, reporting to the Business Solutions Analyst, plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operational activities of the Office of General Operations (OGO). This position is integral to ensuring efficient service delivery by monitoring compliance and executing requests across various operational areas. The analyst is responsible for identifying implementation bottlenecks and proposing solutions to enhance service delivery, thereby contributing to the overall effectiveness of UNDP's operations. The role involves close interaction with functional units to ensure seamless execution of services and support the organization's mandate.
Responsibilities
The Logistics Analyst is responsible for providing comprehensive support to OGO's daily operations. Key duties include managing procurement processes, such as preparing and reviewing requisitions, purchase orders, and receipts, and assisting in the preparation of procurement plans. The role involves ensuring adherence to micro-purchasing policies, assessing procurement methods, and performing quality checks on documentation. Additionally, the analyst will manage and oversee event planning and logistics, including venue negotiation and calendar management. Support for asset management, including guidance on fixed asset policies, verification, disposal, and reporting, is also a core responsibility. The role further encompasses office space management, driving team performance through monitoring and reporting, and facilitating knowledge sharing and capacity building activities.
Work Experience
Applicants with a Master's degree are not required to have professional work experience. Applicants with a Bachelor's degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in public sector procurement management, administration, or logistics support at the national or international level. Desirable experience includes event management, procurement processes, office space management, fixed and non-fixed asset management, ERP systems, and working with UN organizations.
Skills
Key competencies include achieving results, innovative thinking, continuous learning, adaptability, determination, and engagement. Technical skills encompass procurement management, contract management, customer/client management, and event planning and execution. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, is also essential.
