Organizational Context
UNDP Bangladesh's Democratic Governance programming aims to accelerate effective governance for inclusive, capable, rule-based, accountable, and transparent development. The Initiation Plan (IP) for SARG enhances capabilities of interim authorities, national institutions, and civil society to drive democratic reforms and foster inclusive development, serving as a foundation for future strategic interventions.
Job Purpose
The Project Assistant (Documentation and Reporting) supports the IP-SARG project by managing reporting, documentation, knowledge management, communication content development, and evidence compilation. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective communication and dissemination of project results and learnings. The assistant will work closely with the Project Manager to maintain project records, prepare various reports and knowledge products, and contribute to the overall visibility and success of the project's democratic governance initiatives in Bangladesh. The position aims to enhance the project's ability to track progress, share achievements, and contribute to UNDP's broader development goals.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include maintaining a centralized digital archive for all project documents, reports, and visibility materials. The role involves systematic documentation of activities, supporting the creation of knowledge products such as case studies and lessons learned, and ensuring quality assurance for reports. The Project Assistant will also support the drafting, editing, and finalization of quarterly, annual, and donor reports, compiling inputs, and preparing briefing notes and presentations. Additionally, the position acts as a communication focal point, assisting in disseminating project results across UNDP platforms and social media, and providing creative coverage of project activities. Support for M&E, procurement processes, and ad hoc tasks to ensure smooth project implementation is also required.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience is required with secondary education, or 2 years with a Bachelor's degree. This experience should be in reporting, documentation, and knowledge management within development interventions. One year of proven experience in reporting and documentation for reform initiatives is also necessary.
Skills
Proficiency in documentation management, filing, and record keeping. Experience in preparing presentations, briefs, and knowledge products. Strong written communication skills in English and Bangla. Familiarity with results and donor reporting, and evidence compilation. Basic photography, graphic design, and visual documentation skills are desirable. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks effectively.
