Job Purpose
The Communications Analyst adapts UNDP's global communication strategy to Peru's local context and development priorities. This role involves producing high-quality communication materials and utilizing targeted channels to position UNDP as a development leader, enhance visibility of program outcomes, mobilize support for Sustainable Development Goals, and promote UN collaboration. The analyst works closely with program, operations, and project teams, UN agencies, government officials, media, donors, and civil society to ensure effective implementation of communication strategies.
Responsibilities
The Communications Analyst supports the planning and design of internal and external communication strategies, including needs assessments and input for outreach strategies. Responsibilities include managing publications, drafting articles, and coordinating with suppliers. The role provides technical support for digital communications, managing social media, websites, and intranet content. Additionally, the analyst contributes to campaign initiatives, promotes advocacy materials, disseminates newsletters, and develops awareness-raising materials. The position also assists with knowledge management, identifying best practices, contributing to knowledge networks, and training staff on knowledge management. May supervise communications personnel.
Work Experience
Applicants with a Master's degree are not required to have professional experience. Those with a Bachelor's degree need a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in communication, journalism, public relations, public administration, or marketing at the national or international level. Experience in media relations, drafting communication products, and implementing outreach campaigns is advantageous.
Skills
Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; advanced knowledge of web-based content management systems for digital platforms, websites, and social media; ability to communicate clearly and concisely; experience in managing internal and external communications; digital asset management; multimedia writing/editing; social media management; writing and editing skills.
