Programme Management Intern (home-Based)
Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the lead UN agency for international development, working in 170 countries to eradicate poverty and reduce inequality. The Sustainable Finance Hub (SFH) supports partners in financing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Finance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAST) Initiative, a flagship programme of SFH, mobilizes the financial sector to combat modern slavery and human trafficking through sustainable finance solutions.
Job Purpose
The Programme Management Intern will support the Finance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAST) Initiative by assisting with programme management, event coordination, and knowledge-sharing activities. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects focused on eradicating modern slavery and human trafficking through innovative financing mechanisms. The intern will work under the supervision of the FAST Initiative Project Coordinator and in close collaboration with the Sustainable Finance Hub team, contributing to the overall mission of advancing sustainable development and delivering tangible improvements in people's lives.
Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day programme coordination, planning, and implementation support for FAST Initiative activities, ensuring alignment with workplans and timelines. Track deliverables, deadlines, and action points, following up with stakeholders. Assist in preparing, reviewing, and organizing programme documents, briefs, presentations, meeting notes, and reports. Maintain programme records, contact lists, calendars, and filing systems for effective coordination and knowledge management. Support logistical, administrative, and operational arrangements for programme activities, including procurement and vendor coordination. Organize in-person, virtual, and hybrid consultations and events. Conduct background research and desk reviews for knowledge products. Collect, organize, and synthesize information from various sources. Document key insights, recommendations, and lessons learned. Assist in drafting event debriefs, outcome reports, and communication materials. Support the development and maintenance of knowledge repositories and internal knowledge-sharing platforms.
Work Experience
Experience in data analysis through university coursework is desired. A minimum of 1 year of experience in organizational or project management, preferably within international organizations, is highly desired. A minimum of 1 year of experience in programme management and knowledge management, particularly in sustainable finance or development, is also highly desired. Familiarity with multilateral organizations or bilateral donor agencies is a plus.
