Job Purpose
The Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and successful implementation of the Net-Zero, Nature-Positive (NZNP) economy project in Trinidad and Tobago. This role involves guiding project activities, ensuring effective facilitation with UNDP, implementing partners, and donors, and achieving project results, outputs, and targets. The position is crucial for fostering linkages between beneficiaries and national institutions, driving the country's transition away from oil and gas dependency towards a sustainable economic future, and contributing to climate change mitigation and biodiversity goals.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will provide technical supervision, coordination, and management for all project aspects. Key duties include managing project planning and implementation, ensuring timely delivery of outputs and outcomes within budget and quality standards, and consolidating technical and financial progress reports. Responsibilities also encompass organizing project events, leading administrative and planning functions, liaising with finance teams, and supervising staff and consultants. Establishing and maintaining partnerships with governmental agencies and stakeholders, monitoring progress against targets, identifying and mitigating risks, and managing project evaluations are critical. Furthermore, the role involves facilitating knowledge sharing, capacity building, and documenting best practices related to the project's thematic areas.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of project/programme management experience is required with a Master's degree, or 7 years with a Bachelor's degree. Experience should be in fields such as natural resource management, environmental policy, or climate change mitigation and adaptation. Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects and leading teams is essential.
