Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mali is implementing a project to support the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) and enhance climate resilience. This role is within the Project Management Unit (PMU) and will work closely with the Ministry of Environment, Green Economy and Climate Action (AEDD) to strengthen national capacities for climate change adaptation and access climate finance.
Job Purpose
The Knowledge Management Analyst will be responsible for structuring, capitalizing on, and disseminating project learnings to enhance the effectiveness of climate change adaptation initiatives in Mali. This role supports the UNDP Mali Country Office and the AEDD in translating strategic adaptation priorities into concrete, bankable programs and projects. The analyst will contribute to strengthening institutional frameworks, improving evidence-based adaptation planning, and enhancing national capacities to mobilize climate finance, particularly from the Green Climate Fund (GCF). The position is crucial for ensuring that project outcomes contribute to Mali's resilience against climate-related hazards and support socio-economic development.
Responsibilities
The Knowledge Management Analyst will design and implement the project's knowledge management strategy, including developing communication plans and producing capitalization materials like briefs and best practice sheets. Responsibilities include centralizing and organizing project information, deliverables, and learning products for accessibility and reuse. The role involves supporting the development of tools for operational knowledge dissemination. Additionally, the analyst will co-develop the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) framework, maintain dashboards, and prepare progress reports. They will contribute to project evaluations and support the integration of generated knowledge into sectoral processes, stakeholder engagement, and the formulation of new project proposals within the Environment/Climate portfolio.
Work Experience
Candidates with a Master's degree in a relevant field are not required to have professional experience. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree must have at least two years of relevant professional experience.

Technical skills encompass systems thinking, partnership management (civil society engagement), communication strategy implementation, data analysis, and data storytelling/communication.
