Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People (PAPP) aims to improve the economic and social conditions of Palestinians. This role supports PAPP's mission by providing essential transportation services within Jerusalem and the West Bank, contributing to the delivery of development assistance and operational activities.
Job Purpose
The Driver is responsible for providing reliable and safe transportation services for UNDP/PAPP staff, officials, and visitors within Jerusalem and the West Bank. This includes daily commutes, airport/bridge transfers, and the delivery/collection of important documents and mail. The role also involves ensuring the vehicle is well-maintained, logs are accurate, and necessary supplies are available. By performing these duties efficiently and safely, the Driver directly supports the operational effectiveness of UNDP's development assistance programs in the region, ensuring smooth logistical operations and timely support for programmatic activities and personnel movements.
Responsibilities
Ensure safe and reliable driving services for UNDP/PAPP staff, officials, and visitors, including transportation of mail and documents. Provide airport/bridge pick-up and drop-off services, assisting with formalities as needed. Maintain accurate daily vehicle logs and contribute to vehicle maintenance planning to promote cost savings and efficient use. Perform and arrange for regular vehicle maintenance, including minor repairs, and promptly report any required major repairs. Ensure the vehicle is equipped with all necessary documents, tools, and safety items, and take immediate action in case of accidents. Provide timely logistics support by delivering and collecting official documents, assisting with workshop/seminar organization, event setup, and registry tasks. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient functioning of the office.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant work experience as a driver with a safe driving record is required. Experience working with the UN or other international organizations is desirable. Basic computer literacy, including email usage, is also necessary.

Safe and responsible driving; knowledge of driving rules and regulations; vehicle maintenance and minor repair skills; accurate log keeping; ability to travel within Jerusalem and the West Bank; computer literacy (email); communication skills; customer service orientation; knowledge of UN policies and ethics; registry and correspondence management.
