Social Media Video Production Intern (remote)

Organizational Context

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the UN's global development network, connecting countries to knowledge and resources to foster development. The Office of Communications, specifically the Digital Communications Studio, is at the forefront of advancing online outreach. This role supports the Social Media Specialist within this office.

Job Purpose

This internship supports the Digital Communications Studio by conceptualizing and creating social media content and videos for campaigns, events, and promotional purposes. The role is crucial for enhancing UNDP's online presence and communication efforts. The intern will produce videos from script to final edit, assist with video editing and captioning in various formats and languages, and contribute to social media copy for global platforms. Additionally, the intern will assist in researching and curating multimedia content for UNDP's digital platforms, ensuring consistent brand representation and broadening the impact of UNDP's initiatives.

Responsibilities

The intern will be responsible for producing social media videos, encompassing scriptwriting, editing, and captioning in English and potentially other languages. They will assist in editing and captioning existing social media videos across different formats and languages. A key duty involves supporting the creation of engaging social media copy in English for all UNDP global platforms, with a focus on multimedia content, campaigns, and UN International Days. Furthermore, the intern will provide assistance in researching, curating, and presenting stories, images, graphics, and videos for UNDP's digital platforms, including the production of Trello boards for content management.

Work Experience

While not strictly required, experience in social media management and content production is considered an asset. Proficiency with multimedia content creation tools such as Adobe Suite or Canva is also beneficial.
