This global program aims to help countries address biodiversity finance gaps by strengthening the economic case for conservation and mobilizing public and private finance for nature-positive outcomes.
Job Purpose
The Biodiversity Finance Analyst - Public and Financial Sector will provide essential analytical, coordination, and operational support for BIOFIN Phase II in Zambia. This role is crucial for advancing and delivering biodiversity and green finance initiatives. The analyst will conduct research, engage stakeholders, support policy development, and contribute to reporting, all aimed at mobilizing public and private investment for nature and closing the biodiversity finance gap. The position supports the design and implementation of innovative financing solutions aligned with national biodiversity finance plans and green finance agendas.
Responsibilities
The role involves providing analytical support through data mining, desk research, and preparing evidence-based analyses to inform policy and financing solutions. It includes supporting the design and operationalization of biodiversity and green finance initiatives, analyzing policy and financing options, and providing technical assistance for ongoing projects. The analyst will also facilitate stakeholder engagement and coordination with government, financial institutions, and development partners, organizing meetings and workshops. Additionally, the role supports the creation of knowledge products, reports, and communication materials, and provides programme support for effective implementation and reporting to stakeholders.
Work Experience
A Master's degree holder is not required to have professional work experience. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in areas such as sustainable finance, capital markets, banking, corporate finance, public finance, or natural resource/environmental management.
