Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Republic of Moldova supports the country's climate action and resilience efforts. This role is within the Nature, Climate, and Energy department, focusing on strengthening institutional capacity and improving knowledge management systems related to climate change adaptation and mitigation, particularly through the Climate Change Information and Knowledge Management Platform (CCIKMP).
Job Purpose
The Knowledge Management Analyst will ensure the Climate Change Information and Knowledge Management Portal (CCIKMP) remains relevant, functional, visible, and strategically utilized as Moldova's central digital platform for climate information, coordination, and decision support. This involves systematically updating content, developing knowledge products, engaging stakeholders, and integrating data to enhance the portal's role as a comprehensive resource. The objective is to strengthen the platform's capacity to support evidence-based decision-making, effective climate governance, NDC implementation, adaptation planning, and stakeholder coordination, thereby contributing to Moldova's climate resilience and sustainable development goals.
Responsibilities
The Knowledge Management Analyst is responsible for maintaining the Climate Change Information and Knowledge Management Portal (CCIKMP) by systematically updating all its sections with accurate and accessible information. This includes developing and publishing policy briefs, analytical texts, and user-friendly descriptions of national climate strategies and reforms. The role involves coordinating with relevant institutions to obtain and update climate-related datasets, ensuring consistency between Romanian and English content. Additionally, the analyst will develop high-quality knowledge products, transform technical reports into accessible formats, and support the publication of guidance materials and training resources. Promoting the portal's visibility through social media and newsletters, analyzing user feedback for improvements, and delivering training sessions on portal usage are key duties. The analyst will also support the National Climate Change Commission by promoting the publication of its documents and assisting the secretariat in utilizing the portal for coordination and transparency. Continuous quality control of content and ensuring alignment with national and international reporting requirements are also essential.
Work Experience
While a Master's degree holder may not require professional experience, a Bachelor's degree necessitates a minimum of two years of documented professional experience in collecting, structuring, and managing datasets from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and reliability for digital platforms. Desired experience includes managing data repositories, coordinating data collection with stakeholders, applying data governance principles, and supporting reporting processes.
Skills
Proficiency in content updating and knowledge management, development of policy briefs and analytical texts, data collection and coordination, knowledge product development, communication and outreach, user feedback analysis, training delivery, quality assurance, and support for inter-institutional coordination. Familiarity with climate change policies, adaptation, and mitigation measures is essential. Fluency in Romanian and English is required.
