Organizational Context
The Independent Evaluation Office (IEO) of UNDP enhances development effectiveness through strategic, independent evaluations and by setting evaluation standards. The IEO operates with five workstreams and has regionalized its operations. It also holds fiduciary responsibilities for the UN Evaluation Group Secretariat, managing its travel, procurement, HR, and finances.
Job Purpose
The Project Analyst provides essential functional support to the IEO's operational processes, focusing on general administration, procurement, and finances. This role is crucial for operationalizing IEO strategies in compliance with UNDP policies and procedures, ensuring client-focused, quality, and results-oriented support within the Unit. The Project Analyst collaborates closely with operations, programme, and project staff to resolve operational issues and facilitate information exchange, contributing to the efficient and effective execution of evaluation activities outlined in the annual work plan.
Responsibilities
Provide efficient operational support for IEO strategies, ensuring compliance with UN/UNDP rules and policies, and implementing the Internal Control Framework. Manage payment processes in coordination with service clusters and Treasury, and support report preparation for stakeholders and internal teams. Assist the Finance Associate with non-PO invoices, monthly payment distribution tracking, and budget monitoring. Provide backup for travel arrangements and F10 submissions. Support regional operational processes, including financial design, budget preparation, and monitoring. Assist in managing UNEG Secretariat's operational requests, including procurement, HR, budget, and payments. Facilitate logistical and administrative services for IEO events and office needs. Contribute to knowledge building by organizing training and synthesizing best practices in operational areas.
Work Experience
For candidates with a Bachelor's degree, a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in providing operational support to international programs is required. Prior experience with UNDP/UN Agency operations, ERP systems, handling large projects, customer service, and knowledge of UNDP administrative and financial processes are desirable.
