The Bureau for Policy and Programme Support (BPPS) leads corporate policies and guidance. The Digital, AI and Innovation (DAI) Hub is central to advancing systems transformation, digitalization, and innovation, integrating expertise to develop scalable solutions for sustainable development.

Job Purpose

This internship within the Digital, AI and Innovation (DAI) Hub at UNDP offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the organization's efforts in leveraging digital technologies and artificial intelligence for sustainable development. Interns will support the DAI Hub's mission to drive systems transformation, inclusive digitalization, and innovation across UNDP's global operations. The role involves assisting in the design, development, and implementation of digital solutions and AI tools, contributing to capacity building, data analysis, and strategic communications. This position is crucial for advancing UNDP's mandate to deliver agile, inclusive, and future-ready development solutions by integrating cutting-edge expertise with field-based insights.

Responsibilities

Interns will support the DAI Hub across various workstreams. In Systems Transformation & Innovation, duties include conducting research, contributing to horizon scanning, and refining innovative policy and programme approaches. For Programme Delivery & Capacity Building, responsibilities involve supporting digital, data, and AI initiatives, developing training materials, and coordinating strategy activities. In Data Policy & Governance, tasks include researching data frameworks, contributing to national data strategies, and tracking global processes. Data Analytics & Insights involves collecting, cleaning, and analyzing datasets, developing visualizations, and translating findings into actionable insights. Partnership & Communications entails researching partners, contributing to outreach, and developing communication materials. Process Efficiency & Resource Management involves tracking project plans and proposing improvements. Product Design, Build, and Management includes participating in the design and testing of digital products and AI tools, and assisting with implementation. Research & Knowledge Management involves updating knowledge platforms and drafting research summaries.

Work Experience

While not strictly required, an interest or prior experience in one of the DAI Hub's workstream areas is desirable. The internship is designed for individuals eager to learn and apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings, with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
