The Operations Team, including the ICT unit, is crucial for delivering efficient operational services to UN entities and UNDP programs. The ICT team drives digital transformation, enabling smarter and more efficient operations to better serve partners and beneficiaries.
Job Purpose
The ICT Cloud Infrastructure Assistant provides essential ICT and administrative support to the ICT unit within the UNDP Brazil Country Office. This role is responsible for delivering daily technical support to users of information management tools and the technology infrastructure, promoting a client-oriented approach. The assistant collaborates closely with Programme, Operations, and project teams, as well as UNDP HQ staff, to resolve ICT-related issues. The position contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the ICT unit and supports the CO's digital transformation efforts, ensuring technology solutions enhance business operations and service delivery to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Support the implementation of ICT management systems and strategies, ensuring compliance with corporate standards and contributing to SOPs. Provide ICT support for key events, including video/audio conferencing for hybrid meetings, and offer help desk services to colleagues across agencies. Assist in automation and digitalization efforts for CO Operations and Programmes, including software installation and upgrades. Maintain effective functioning of the CO hardware and software packages by monitoring server traffic, assisting with cloud-based backup and restoration, and providing user support for virus detection and prevention. Troubleshoot network problems, maintain inventories of hardware, software, and supplies, and perform routine technical tasks and repairs. Provide administrative support, including maintaining ICT-related reference materials and unit files, and preparing routine correspondence. Facilitate knowledge building and sharing by assisting in organizing ICT training and contributing to knowledge networks.
Work Experience
A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma, or 1 year with a bachelor's degree, is required. Experience should include network administration, web design, technical support for hardware/software, cloud ERP environments, database applications, and web-based management systems. Experience with user-centered designs, Cisco Meraki, Microsoft Azure, RPA, and AI is desirable.
