Job Purpose
The purpose of the Cleaning Support role is to ensure the optimal functioning and maintenance of the UN House building in Santo Domingo. This position is critical for providing essential support across various facility management areas, thereby contributing to a safe, clean, and highly functional environment for all staff, visitors, and events. The incumbent's efforts directly support the operational efficiency of the UN House, which is vital for the UNDP and other UN entities to effectively carry out their mandates in the Dominican Republic. By meticulously maintaining the physical infrastructure, including electrical, plumbing, and structural elements, and ensuring the cleanliness of both interior and exterior spaces, this role plays a fundamental part in upholding professional standards. This ultimately facilitates the smooth execution of organizational activities and contributes to the broader development goals of the UNDP.
Responsibilities
The Cleaning Support is responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning and pristine condition of the UN House building through a comprehensive set of duties. This includes actively assisting with various maintenance tasks, such as electrical repairs, painting, and plumbing work, to address issues promptly and maintain the building's infrastructure in excellent working order. A critical responsibility involves supporting the regular maintenance of the electrical plant, ensuring an uninterrupted power supply for all operations and minimizing disruptions. The incumbent will also provide essential assistance with structural repairs as needed, contributing to the long-term integrity and safety of the facility. Beyond general maintenance, the role encompasses significant support for events, including the meticulous preparation of meeting and conference rooms to ensure they are perfectly set up for various gatherings, conferences, and functions. Furthermore, a key duty is to maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of all exterior areas of the building, presenting a professional and welcoming facade to staff and visitors alike. These responsibilities are vital for creating a conducive, safe, and operational environment, directly supporting the daily activities and strategic objectives of all UN personnel and entities housed within the facility.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of relevant work experience is required.
