Job Purpose
The Programme Analyst will support the design and implementation of integrated interventions focused on institutional effectiveness, transparency, participation, and innovation. This role contributes to accelerating SDG achievement by developing accountable, people-centered, and rights-based governance systems. The position involves analyzing trends, formulating and managing programme activities, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of UNDP's strategic objectives in Uruguay. The aim is to create systemic changes in resilience and capacity building, addressing urgent national and global challenges.
Responsibilities
The Programme Analyst will contribute to the formulation and implementation of programme strategies by analyzing the country's socio-economic situation and providing inputs for strategic documents. They will manage the CO programme, ensuring quality assurance and risk management, and oversee planning, budgeting, and monitoring of assigned areas, tracking financial resources and applying results-based management tools. The role involves supporting the creation of strategic partnerships with various institutions and contributing to resource mobilization efforts. Additionally, the analyst will provide advisory services to the government, facilitate knowledge building, identify best practices, and support advocacy and communication on governance priorities. The position may involve supervising programme support staff.
Work Experience
A Master's degree holder requires no professional experience. A Bachelor's degree holder needs a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in managing and evaluating development portfolios and projects. Experience with computers, office software, and web-based management systems is required. Experience in qualitative research, capacity building, knowledge mobilization, and working with international organizations is desirable.
