WE RISE Together Intern (Thai)
Organizational Context
UN Women Thailand focuses on ending violence against women, women's peace and security, and women's economic empowerment. The WE RISE Together (WRT) project, a four-year initiative under the Mekong-Australia Partnership, aims to advance gender-responsive procurement in the Mekong sub-region. It seeks to expand market access for women-owned and gender-responsive enterprises through procurement opportunities, addressing structural gender inequities.
Job Purpose
This internship supports the WE RISE Together (WRT) initiative and other UN Women Thailand programme activities. The intern will contribute to advancing gender equality and women's economic empowerment by supporting project implementation, event organization, data management, and communication efforts. The role aims to provide practical experience in programme support, stakeholder engagement, and gender-responsive procurement within the Mekong sub-region, contributing to UN Women's mission.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting the systematic collection, consolidation, and management of programme data, maintaining contact lists and databases, and organizing information from workshops and meetings. The intern will assist in planning and coordinating WRT activities, including the 2026 Thailand WEPs Awards, drafting invitations, managing participant logistics, and documenting events. Translation support between Thai and English for documents and communications is required. Additionally, the intern will support communication outreach with partners and stakeholders, assist in drafting communication materials, and contribute to documenting highlights and success stories.
Work Experience
No specific work experience is required for this internship. However, the role offers an opportunity to gain experience in SDGs monitoring, report drafting, communications, information management, and programme implementation within a multicultural setting.
Skills
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English and Thai. Working knowledge of another UN language is an advantage. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with diverse actors, multi-task, and manage competing priorities. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Basic Excel skills for data analysis and visualization. Strong research, writing, and critical analysis skills.
