Programme Assistant - Affirmative Procurement
Organizational Context
UN Women is dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. The Nigeria Country Office is implementing the 'Women’s Economic Empowerment Through Affirmative Inclusion' project. This role provides crucial programme support to ensure the effective management and implementation of UN Women's programmes within the country office, contributing to the broader mandate of advancing gender equality.
Job Purpose
The Programme Assistant provides essential support for the effective management of UN Women programmes in the Country Office. This involves contributing to programme design, formulation, implementation, and evaluation. The role supports the delivery of UN Women programmes by analyzing results, ensuring appropriate application of systems and procedures, and working collaboratively with internal teams, government officials, donors, and civil society to ensure successful programme execution. The position is key to the operational efficiency and programmatic success of the Economic Empowerment unit.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive administrative and logistical support for the Programme Unit, including financial management tasks such as project creation in Quantum/PRISM, budget revisions, and financial close-out. Undertake logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, events, and missions, and manage travel arrangements for the Programme Team. Support resource mobilization efforts by organizing and processing donor documentation. Facilitate knowledge building and sharing by supporting training organization and the development of relevant documents and presentations. Offer programmatic support in preparing work plans, budgets, and proposals, tracking fund delivery, and monitoring project activities and finances using results-based management tools. Assist with audits and the implementation of recommendations, and gather data for reports and position papers.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative or programme management/support is required. Proficiency in computer environments with multiple office software packages is essential. Experience with ERP systems, such as Oracle Cloud, and experience supporting a team are desirable.
